A little natural history
A slow-moving branch walker from dry Chaco forest. Its moisture-saving adaptations differ from those of many rainforest frogs; appearance alone is a poor guide to its environmental needs.
The wonderfully odd bit
It spreads waxy skin secretions over its body to reduce water loss.
Would this frog suit a home?
Use specialist species-specific guidance with suitable perches, ventilation and controlled heating. Do not apply permanently saturated rainforest husbandry to a dry-forest species.
Only consider legally obtained, captive-bred animals. Check permits and restrictions where you live, test the habitat first, and arrange an amphibian-experienced vet. This brief profile is not a complete husbandry sheet.
